A 32-year-old Phoenix man is dead after an officer involved shooting that occured in Peoria during the late afternoon of May 17, police said.
Preliminary information shows the officer observed, at about 4:15 p.m., a vehicle with a license plate that did not match the vehicle it was displayed on. The vehicle was located in the parking lot of the Shell gas station at 9060 W. Northern Ave.
The officer approached the driver of the vehicle to investigate and a few moments into their interaction, the officer and the man got into a physical confrontation, police said.
