A Phoenix man has been arrested for armed robbery after allegedly hitting one of his neighbors with a metal pole and stealing his bicycle last week in Phoenix.

The suspect, 39-year-old Allen Lamar Ross, claims he hit his neighbor in self-defense after the neighbor struck him with the bicycle, according to a Phoenix police report.

The police report states someone called the police shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, reporting two men were fighting in their apartment complex, northeast of the Loop 202-State Route 143 interchange. The caller said one man had a large tree cutter and the other had a large bat.
