Phoenix looks to hire consultant to recraft downtown

City plans downtown entertainment district

City of Phoenix officials want to create a downtown entertainment district, and they think they have the people to craft the plan.

A Phoenix subcommittee last week unanimously approved a contract to hire HR&A Advisors as a consultant to help craft a plan for cohesive marketing strategy around an entertainment district downtown near the Phoenix Convention Center.

The contract, for $529,000, will go to the full council next month for final approval.
