Phoenix limits and regulates medical care, food distribution in parks

The city of Phoenix is limiting medical treatment and food distribution in city parks and establishing guidelines for medical treatment.

The new ordinance requires a Park Services Permit be obtained to do either activity. The city will issue no more than two Park Services Permits per eligible park per month. Eligible parks include neighborhood parks with parking lots, community parks and regional parks, excluding sports complexes. Apply for a permit at shorturl.at/uEzZL.

Phoenix City Council passed the ordinance on Wednesday, May 6, with a 6-3 vote. The meeting included hours of public testimony on both sides of the issue.
