Phoenix high school coach honored among national coaches of the year

A Deer Valley Unified School District coach is among 24 across the country honored as 2024-25 National Coaches of the Year by the National Federation of State High School Associations.

Jamey Spartz, beach volleyball coach at Sandra Day O’Connor, was nominated by the Arizona Interscholastic Association.

Over the past 10 years Spartz has built “a dynasty,” according to the NFHS, as the Eagles are 133-10 overall in her tenure and have won four straight state titles.
