A Phoenix golf event raised big money for a local charity.

On April 28, FORE the House Golf Tournament raised more than $300,000 that went toward families who benefit from Ronald McDonald House Charities in Central and Northern Arizona, according to a press release.

The event — at Papago Golf Club — hosted about 130 golfers, the press release stated.

"Every golfer, sponsor and volunteer who came out today made a difference for families facing some of the hardest days of their lives," said Kerry Schulman, CEO at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central and Northern Arizona. "We are deeply grateful for this outpouring of support, which helps us surround families with comfort, community and a place to stay free of charge so they can focus on what matters most – the health of their child."
