Phoenix, Glendale crews rescue hiker stung 100 times by bees

Man found near Lookout Mountain summit

A hiker who was stung more than 100 times by bees was rescued Saturday morning from Lookout Mountain, authorities said.

Technical rescue teams from Phoenix and Glendale used a helicopter to bring the man down from near the mountain’s summit.

The hiker, who has not been identified, was brought to an ambulance at the trailhead and taken to a hospital in critical condition, according to a Phoenix Fire Department release.
