Haydon Building Corp has promoted four executives to take the company to the next level.

They are Joe Malone to executive director, civil division; Heather Marin to director of operations, building division; Christian Davis to director of preconstruction, building division; Chance Raser to director of estimating, civil division.

Haydon Building Corp is a family-owned, full-service general contractor serving the Southwest for more than 30 years. These strategic appointments reflect both the company’s dedication to developing its employees and its continued efforts to drive future innovation and growth, a press release stated.

“We are excited and very proud to announce the promotions of four extremely important and talented people inside our organization,” Haydon Executive Vice President Katie Perry, said in the release. “Joe Malone, Heather Marin, Christian Davis and Chance Raser are key pieces to the future of Haydon, ambassadors of our brand and masters of their trades. Each one of them not only lives our core values, but they also bring distinct perspectives, unequivocal skills and experience that takes Haydon to the next level.”

Executive Director Joe Malone

Malone displays a blue collar work ethic from birth, having started in construction in the fifth grade, the release stated. He officially began his career at Haydon in 2006 as an intern. After graduation, he began full-time work as a project engineer with the civil division.

He played critical roles in the Town of Queen Creek West Park CMAR, the Buckeye Apache Road Water Treatment Plant and Cardon Development Aspera ADOT Improvements in Peoria, according to the release.

Malone provides leadership, clarity around work structure, and guidance to project engineers, project managers, project directors and superintendents in the civil division at Haydon. He is also involved with Haydon’s summer internship program for college students.

He completed his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management at the Del E. Webb School of Construction at Arizona State University. Malone is an active Associated General Contractors member, and a Maricopa Association of Governments Standard Specifications & Details Committee member.

He enjoys traveling with his wife and daughter, outdoor activities, hunting and building jeeps to rock crawl.

Director of Operations Heather Marin

Marin joined Haydon in 2022 and is known in the industry as a trustworthy builder with quality workmanship who focuses on customer satisfaction on all her projects, the release stated.

When owning her own business, her dedication earned her top honors, ranking her company among the Top Ten of Construction Companies in Ranking Arizona’s Best of Arizona Business in 2010 through 2015.

Marin played an integral role in revamping Haydon’s standard operating procedures and projection processes to align with the company’s growing size and how it operates, according to the release. She excels at building strong relationships with her teams and industry partners in the building division’s vertical market.

Marin brings almost three decades of field and operations experience to her role, having held positions ranging from project engineer and elevating to operations director out of ASU’s Del E. Webb School of Construction.

She is married with two daughters and is committed to helping other women in the construction industry develop and succeed.

Director of Preconstruction Christian Davis

Davis relocated from Atlanta, Ga. to join Haydon in 2021, bringing vast experience with both large and small general contractors.

Davis offers expertise and creativity in various delivery methods and types of commercial and industrial projects. He played an instrumental role in Haydon’s Desert Mountain Golf Club projects as well as in health care construction projects for MedCraft Health Care Real Estate and NexCore, according to the release.

Davis’ ability to build deep and lasting client relationships is vital for Haydon. He excels in positively motivating the people around him, especially due to his ownership mentality.

Davis studied construction management at Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Ga.

Outside of work, he attends sporting events with his wife, is a dog father, loves to travel and is a competitive bodybuilder.

Director of Estimating Chance Raser

Raser joined Haydon in 2012 from Austin Bridge & Road. He has held a number of operations positions including project engineer, project manager and project director and most recently, preconstruction director.

Raser brings his deep and comprehensive experience to oversee Haydon’s bid submissions, maintaining key relationships with trade partners and suppliers throughout the entire process while interfacing with the operations and preconstruction divisions, according to the release.

A respected leader and mentor with a reputation for resourcefulness, outside-the-box thinking and problem solving to find meaningful solutions, Raser is a certified registered professional civil engineer who mentors colleagues working toward their certifications.

His vast operations experience translates into understanding potential projects’ risks and processes as it relates to estimating and applying his firsthand field experience, the release stated. Raser played a key role in Haydon’s work on the Loop 303 and US 60 Interchange and the Pima Road reconstruction project in Scottsdale.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Construction, Engineering Technology from Montana State University.

Raser is married with two young daughters and enjoys woodworking and the outdoors. He creates smiles and laughs among coworkers as he remains Haydon’s undefeated prank war champion.
