Phoenix Fire’s inaugural holiday food drive with St. Mary’s ends Friday

With thousands of individuals and families across Arizona facing food insecurity each day, the Phoenix Fire Department has partnered with St. Mary’s Food Bank to kick off its inaugural Holiday Food Drive. The campaign aims to support local households ahead of the busy holiday season, when community need typically increases.

Through Friday, residents can donate non-perishable food items to help ease household food insecurity this holiday season.

“We know the holidays can be a challenge for many community members,” Phoenix Fire Chief Mike Duran stated in a news release. “We are excited to launch our inaugural Holiday Food Drive and partner with St. Mary’s Food Bank. As firefighters, we always want to help whenever we can, however we can.”

Suggested contributions include canned vegetables and fruits, peanut butter, canned proteins, boxed meals and cereals. Donors are asked to ensure all items are sealed and within their expiration dates.

Collection bins have been placed at eight fire stations across the city, offering convenient drop-off points for community members wishing to participate. This year’s designated locations include:

  • Fire Station 9: 330 E. Fairmount Ave.
  • Fire Station 12: 4247 N. 32nd St.
  • Fire Station 25: 4010 N. 63rd Ave.
  • Fire Station 27: 12449 N. 32nd St.
  • Fire Station 28: 7409 S. 16th St.

  • Fire Station 52: 21650 N. Tatum Blvd.
  • Fire Station 59: 1111 S. 65th Ave.

The Phoenix Fire Department stated it is proud to partner with St. Mary’s Food Bank and advised residents that even small donations can make a meaningful difference for families struggling to access consistent, nutritious meals.
