2 weeks left in public comment period

The city of Phoenix is drafting a plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the city by two-thirds by 2030 and reach zero greenhouse gas emissions and zero waste by 2050.

Phoenix’s Climate Action Plan includes plans to increase renewable energy, public transit options, the amount of electric vehicles on the road and shade while it provides clean air, clean and reliable water sources and increases the use of recycled materials and provides healthy and sustainable food for all residents.

“This Valley has long been home to resilient and enterprising people, and I believe Phoenix has the ingenuity and courageous spirit to honor this legacy and create a better city, and a better world, for future generations to come,” Mayor Kate Gallego said in a written statement.
