Phoenix Councilwoman touts Maryvale safety efforts at traffic signal unveiling

City of Phoenix officials unveiled a new traffic signal this week, touting efforts to increase traffic safety in the Maryvale neighborhood.

The new signal is at 91st and Campbell avenues, outside of Westwind Elementary School. It is the 1,233rd signalized intersection in the city.

District 5 Councilmember Betty Guardado said she has boys age 9 and 14 and wants to create a community where children can get out of the house and spend time outside with friends.
