Phoenix councilmember pays tribute to two neighborhood leaders who died this month

Phoenix Councilmember Laura Pastor during Tuesday’s city council meeting paid tribute to “two incredibly passionate and dedicated community leaders in District 4” who died this month.

Bradley “Brad” Bauer, president of the Willo Historic Neighborhood Association, died Friday, Jan. 23 at age 61, and Sheila “Ginger” Mattox, member and former chair of the F.Q. Story Historic Neighborhood Steering Committee, died Saturday, Jan. 17 at age 78, according to online obituaries for each.

“I had the privilege of working with and learning from both of these leaders,” Pastor said on Tuesday. “They were fierce advocates for their neighborhoods and unwavering believers in preserving the history and character of our city. They leave a lasting legacy and will be deeply missed. My thoughts are with their families and the Willo and F.Q. Story neighborhoods.”
