The Phoenix City Council voted unanimously late Wednesday night to approve the rezoning for the north Phoenix project known as NorthPark.
The project, which will feature scores of homes and commercial developement, as well as roughly 1,110 acres designed to feature a new semiconductor manufacturing facility and other commercial development, will be south of Loop 303 between Interstate 17 and 67th Avenue.
The rezoning allows for Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. to build a new fabrication facility south of its current location at Loop 303 and 51st Avenue north of the freeway.
