Phoenix Council approves 'Jimmy Carter Way'

Phoenix is honoring the late President Jimmy Carter with a ceremonial road sign: “Jimmy Carter Way.”

The signage, at the intersection of 13th Street and St. Anne Avenue, accompanies affordable housing built earlier this year through Habitat for Humanity’s Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project.

“It represents more than a name. It symbolizes the commitment, again, to affordable and attainable housing for our families who want to put down roots and thrive in our city,” Phoenix Councilmember Kesha Hodge Washington said ahead of city council’s 9-0 vote to approve the sign on Nov. 5.
