Phoenix considers raising minimum wage for city workers and contractors

The city of Phoenix is considering raising the minimum wage for city workers and workers of companies contracted with the city.

Council voted 9-0 on Wednesday to have staff analyze the impact such a raise would have on the local economy and the city budget.

Some of the biggest contracted companies that would apply to are airlines and other companies at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
