The city of Phoenix is considering changing the bike lanes along a stretch of Sweetwater Avenue.
The half-mile stretch between 24th and 28th streets is scheduled to be repaved in the summer, presenting the opportunity for the lane striping to be changed.
City staff presented residents with Option A, which would keep the striping as it is with a bike lane in each direction that doubles as street parking outside of 7 a.m.-6 p.m., or Option B, which would change it to a dedicated bike lane in each direction with a separate street parking lane on one side of the road.
