Phoenix City Council aims to fix ‘dead zones’ for fire, police radios

Phoenix City Council indicated last week it wants to fund infrastructure to fix “dead zones” around the city where Phoenix Fire and Police radios do not work.

Phoenix firefighters and police officers have identified at least 200 dead zones around the city where they lose radio signal, Assistant Chief Jeff Schripsema told city council.

Council approved an additional $25 million for routine replacement of radio equipment for police and fire last week.
