Some Phoenix-area churches are bolstering reexamining security plans in the wake of two high-profile shootings at worship houses in the U.S. during the past several weeks.
The shootings, one in Minnesota at the end of August and one in Michigan this past weekend, have some religious leaders examining what they can do to keep their congregations safe.
Scottsdale Bible Church officials have long had security at services, and those teams are regularly trained to ensure the safety of those attending, said Scott Anderson, SBC executive pastor, in a emailed statement.
