Phoenix church plans to turn unused land into apartments

A 114-unit apartment complex is being built on a vacant lot next to a church by North Mountain in Phoenix.

The 3.75-acre parcel is being sold by the adjacent Kingdom in the Valley Christian Church, at 19th and Sunnyside avenues, after it has sat vacant for 35 years.

The complex, being developed by Greenlight Communities, will have 72 units in one building and 42 units in a second building, both three story walk-ups. There will be 42 one-bedroom units and 36 each of studio and two-bedroom units.
