This December the Phoenix Chorale will perform four concerts to celebrate the season.
Led by guest conductor Dr. Edith Copley, “A Chorale Christmas” weaves together music of reflection and celebration — from centuries-old carols to beloved songs of winter.
The first half of the program, organized into four themed sections — The Prophecy, The Angels, The Shepherds, and He Is Born — presents carols and choral masterworks including “Veni,” “Veni Emmanuel,” “A Spotless Rose,” “Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming,” and “O Magnum Mysterium.”

“I am thrilled to lead this year’s Chorale Christmas,” Copley shared in a press release. “This program tells the Christmas story through music that connects us — ancient and modern, sacred and joyful. It’s a chance to celebrate the season together through beautiful voices and beloved songs.”
A Regents’ Professor Emeritus at Northern Arizona University and current National President of the American Choral Directors Association, Copley’s leadership has inspired generations of choral musicians, including many current and former members of the Phoenix Chorale.
