Phoenix Chorale welcomes Dr. Jace Saplan as guest conductor. Saplan is director of choral activities at ASU.
Highlights of the program will include renditions of holiday favorites such as “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” and “Go Tell It On the Mountain,” classical masterpieces from Palestrina (“Hodie Christus Natus Est”), and Mendelssohn, (“Weihnachten”) as well as contemporary pieces from acclaimed composer Saunder Choi (“Meet Me for Noche Buena,” and “The Coventry Carol,” arranged by the Phoenix Chorale’s own Kira Zeeman Rugen).
“Dr. Saplan is a shining light in the choral field, building an impressive program at ASU as well as being highly in demand as a clinician, animateur, director and speaker with numerous ensembles and at many and varied symposia across the United States and beyond,” Phoenix Chorale Artistic Director Christopher Gabbitas shared in a press release.
Audiences can also enjoy the Phoenix Chorale’s latest recording, “The Christmas Album,” released in October on Signum label. The album is available on Spotify, Apple Music and for purchase at lnk.to/PhoenixChoraleChristmas
