Phoenix Chorale is returning to the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, 7380 E. Second Street, with “TRANSCENDENCE,” a concert experience that brings together choir and large orchestra in a program of contemporary classical music.
The show features music by international composers Arvo Pärt, Anna Thorvaldsdottir, Ola Gjeilo, and is the U.S. premiere of British composer Rebecca Dale’s symphonic choral work,
“When Music Sounds.” The performance includes 99 musicians, with a full orchestra of approximately 40 to 60 instrumentalists and an expanded chorus augmented by student singers from Northern Arizona University, the University of Arizona, and Canto Vivo Chorale of Mesa Community College.

The show will run 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24 and 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 25.
