The Phoenix Chorale announced its new season of music coming to venues around the Valley.

The lineup opens with “Sun, Moon, Stars, Rain,” a musical mediation on the celestial world that surrounds us, according to a press release. The concert also features a preview of the Chorale's next album to be recorded in January.

The Chorale will perform “Sun, Moon, Stars, Rain” Friday, Oct. 13 at First United Methodist Church, 15 E. 1st Ave., in Mesa; Saturday, Oct. 14 at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 100 W. Roosevelt St., in Phoenix; and Sunday, Oct. 15 at Camelback Bible Church, 3900 E. Stanford Drive, in Paradise Valley.

All shows start at 7:30 p.m., except the Oct. 15 performance, which starts at 3 p.m.

“A Chorale Christmas” arrives for the holiday season featuring Dr. Jace Saplan, ASU’s director of chorale activities, as guest conductor.

The Christmas shows take place Friday, Dec. 15 at Brophy Chapel, 4701 N. Central Ave., in Phoenix; Saturday, Dec. 16 at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral; Sunday, Dec. 17 at Camelback Bible Church; and Monday, Dec. 18 again at Brophy Chapel.

All shows start at 7:30 p.m.

The spring brings a new collaboration with the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, which presents the Phoenix Chorale for the first time.

The Chorale will perform “Mozart: Requiem” accompanied by a full orchestra for two performances March 9 and 10. The concert will also include “The Lost Birds” by Christopher Tin, which was nominated for a Grammy in 2023.

Tickets for “Mozart: Requiem” go on sale Friday, Sept. 15 at scottsdaleperformingarts.org.

Concluding the season, the Phoenix Chorale performs a mixed choral program entitled “Horizons” May 10-12. The concert will feature music from around the world, and the world premiere by Dubai-based British composer Joanna Marsh, part of the Chorale's commissioning series of female composers.

“Horizons” takes place May 10, 2024 at First United Methodist Church in Mesa; May 11, 2024 at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral; and May 12, 2024 at Camelback Bible Church in Paradise Valley.

Season tickets are available now for packages of two and three concerts at phoenixchorale.org.

The Grammy-winning Phoenix Chorale, led by Artistic Director Christopher Gabbitas since 2019, is an acclaimed ensemble of the western classical tradition. All of the 28-voice ensemble’s members are professional singers who live in Arizona.

Founded in 1958 as the Bach & Madrigal Society of Phoenix and subsequently known as the Phoenix Bach Choir, the Phoenix Chorale became a fully professional choir in 1992.

The Chorale is ensemble-in-residence at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in downtown Phoenix.
