Phoenix Children’s just made several major investments in Gilbert, Avondale, and Glendale (Arrowhead) and looking toward the projected growth of the East and West Valley, PCH is preparing for future developments.
Maricopa County, home to more than two-thirds of Arizona’s children, is the fastest-growing county in the United States. Phoenix Children’s now serves the country’s fourth-largest market for children’s medical services.
"To keep up with growing demand and provide every child, today and well into the future, with the best medicine has to offer for generations to come, Phoenix Children’s is making significant investments and taking bold steps forward by building new, state-of-the-art, community-based hospitals that provide our children and families with a wider spectrum of inpatient and outpatient care much closer to home," said Tim Harrison, vice president of corporate sponsorships & special events. "Initial efforts will focus on the state’s major pediatric population hubs and underserved communities, starting with the East Valley, Northwest Valley, and the Southwest Valley."
Independent Newsmedia is a supporter of PCH's annual Step Up. Stop Cancer. marketing campaign. Independent Newsmedia President & CEO Charlene Bisson hopes to raise $25,000 in support of these new locations throughout Arizona.
"I recently became involved in a new Phoenix Children’s West Valley Board where we are committed to helping fundraise and drive awareness of one of these significant expansion projects," said Bisson. "Those who would like to donate can do so here to this worthy cause: http://action.phoenixchildrens.com/goto/charlenebisson Thank you for your consideration in helping build medical services specifically for children."
Phoenix Children’s has responded to the need of Arizona children since its beginning in 1983.
"With support from the West Valley Board and the entire community, more children in the West Valley will enjoy the best possible start in life — and the quality care they deserve — right in their own community," Mr. Harrison said. "Thank you for our supporting our mission. Because of kind and generous donors like you, children in need of treatment for injuries, chronic illnesses and life-threatening diseases can get the care they desperately need! "
