Phoenix cancer awareness run set for Sept. 13

A prostate cancer patient gets treated by a physician. On Sept. 13, the Arizona Prostate Cancer Coalition is hosting a 5K run in Phoenix to raise cancer awareness.

Tom Herrmann got his routine annual physicals by his doctor.

But last July, Herrmann, 67, had a biopsy that showed he had prostate cancer.

His Gleason score — a metric used to measure the aggressiveness of cancer — was a seven out of 10, Herrmann said.
