Phoenix ‘Beacon’ Tovrea Castle repaired

Recent repairs to a Phoenix landmark hasn’t slowed the tour schedule at Tovrea Castle near Loop 202 and Washington Street.

In January, vandals broke windows and doors on the basement level of the structure — known for its wedding cake shape and prominent look.

The latest vandalism cost the city of Phoenix about $9,700 in completed upkeep, according to the city of Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture.
