More than 27,000 unduplicated females received contraceptive services at Affirm-supported Title X (Ten) clinics across Arizona in 2022.
The Title X program is the only federal program dedicated solely to supporting the delivery of family planning and related preventive health care. Title X services also include contraceptive methods, STI testing and treatment, pregnancy testing and counseling, breast and cervical cancer screening, basic infertility services and preconception health, according to a press release.
As part of the Title X services Affirm, formerly Arizona Family Health Partnership, via clinics statewide administered gonorrhea tests to 15,048 females and 4,149 males, chlamydia tests to 16,722 females and 4,209 males, syphilis tests to 6,103 females and 2,606 males and HIV tests to 7,058 males and 3,308 females. Data is based on sex assigned at birth.
“At Affirm, our goal is to make sexual and reproductive healthcare accessible to everyone,” Affirm CEO Bré Thomas shared in a press release. “We are particularly determined to ensure that services and resources are available to youth, the underinsured and uninsured, low-wage earners, indigenous communities and other groups who have been systematically excluded from receiving care.”
Affirm, located at 3800 N. Central Ave., Suite 820
, in Phoenix, has been operating as an Arizona nonprofit since 1974.
Nationally, the number of Title X clients served overall in 2022 increased from 1.7 million in 2021 to 2.6 million, a 60% increase from the previous year. Service sites nationally also increased by nearly 1,000 locations.
Each year, more than 30,000 mostly low-wage earners access evidence based, accurate and confidential Title X sexual and reproductive healthcare services in Arizona.
