Phoenix art exhibition explores frequencies of energy, color

Works by Joe Ray on display in February

Artist Joe Ray explores the frequencies of energy and color in a new exhibition in downtown Phoenix.

The exhibition, “Frecuencias,” will be on display Feb. 2-26 at Olney Gallery at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 100 W. Roosevelt St. A First Friday artist reception goes from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 6.

Ray’s work reflects a colorful, bi-cultural perspective shaped by Arizona and Mexico, a press release explains. A recurring symbol is the Corazón, inspired by Pre-Columbian ritual, Catholic iconography, and expressions of love, lust, and desire.
