Phoenix almost falls off list of best places to retire

The Valley of the Sun was once one of the premier retirement spots in the country. But those days seem over, according to a new report.

The Phoenix area plummeted on the best places to retire list despite a huge infl ux of people coming to live in the region, according to a new study by U.S. News & World Report.

The study, released Oct. 19, said the Phoenix metro fell to 140th place, just one spot better than Albuquerque, New Mexico, on a list that ranks 150 metro areas in the United States.
