Peterson: Sustainable beef better for environment

Posted

Cattle ranchers, like me, are dedicated to caring for our animals and the land every day of the year. Growing up in Arizona, I spent most of my time as an outdoorsman and have been committed to protecting our native lands ever since.

Before becoming a cattle rancher in 2009, I worked in real estate and saw a tremendous need to rebuild our lands using regenerative cattle production.

Combining my passion for the land and cattle, I have voluntarily worked with state biologists to address the environmental impact of the land, while assessing grazing practices, water usage and how friendly my ranch is to wildlife.

Additionally, I have implemented new grazing practices, added solar and wind power and re-built fences to ensure the land and cattle are working together to create high-quality beef for our consumers.

I am proud that the ranches have been restored to preserve the land so that it can be handed down to future generations. I take great pride in knowing that my cattle are providing my neighbors with high-quality protein in the most sustainable way possible.

Consumers should feel good about eating beef, knowing it is produced on ranches just like mine, by people just like us, across America.
