Peter Balbo Jr

Peter Balbo Jr, age 91, passed away peacefully on Friday morning May 30, 2025. He was a resident of Sun City West, AZ for the past 34 years. Peter was born March 7, 1934, in Canton, Ohio, the son of the late Peter and Bessie Balbo. Peter is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Nancy, his son Jim (Corry) Ward, his brother Joe (Betty) Balbo, his sister Angie Troutman, and his brother John (Ellie) Balbo, and several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. Peter grew up in Canton, Ohio and graduated from Canton Timken High School. Peter also served two years in the US Army including assignments in Germany. Later, Peter moved to Michigan, married Nancy and worked for General Motors at the Technical Center in Warren for 30 years. Upon retirement he moved to Sun City West, AZ. He had a wide range of interests including golf, painting, and woodworking. He loved to share his knowledge and experience in these areas and never stopped learning new things. Peter was an accomplished chef and he and Nancy enjoyed hosting dinner parties. Peter received his private airplane pilot license with twin engine and instrument flying ratings and enjoyed taking weekend trips in the Midwest USA. A celebration of life will be held in Sun City West later this year.
