Peralta Trailhead closed near Gold Canyon because of aggressive bobcat

Tonto National Forest

Effective immediately, the Peralta Trailhead is closed to all visitors. Reports have been received of a bobcat displaying aggressive behavior toward hikers, Tonto National Forest officials said.

Out of an abundance of caution and in the interest of public health and safety, the Tonto National Forest is temporarily closing the area until further notice.

Wildlife officials have been notified, and the current situation is being investigated, it states on Facebook @TontoNationalForest
