A water well that serves Peoria residents with drinking water has been labeled as “high risk” by Arizona Department of Environmental Quality since 2005, according to numerous water reports released by the city over the years.
The “high risk” Stone Well is near 83rd and Grand avenues and serves the community in the surrounding area with drinking water.
A “high risk” designation does not mean the source is or will become contaminated, but that at the time of the assessment, conditions existed that made it susceptible to possible future contamination, a report states.
