Peoria water facility moves into Phase 2 of expansion

Official: Expect cost increases due to supply chain, other issues

The second expansion phase of the Beardsley Water Reclamation Facility is underway with a recent approval by the Peoria City Council of just under $10 million for MGC Contractors to complete the project.

The facility has reached capacity and expansion is required by Maricopa County Environmental Services Department, increasing treatment capacity from 4 million gallons/day to 6 MGD.

Final construction is expected to be completed by fall of 2023, but it will not escape the supply chain, materials and labor challenges that have been exacerbated by the pandemic.
