Peoria utility rate increases not as large as expected

Utility rate increases in Peoria won’t be as large as expected in the coming years, say city financial officials.

Residents’ utility bills include water, sewer, solid waste and storm water services.

Officials say the combined total rate increases for these services are proposed for increases of 5.5% in fiscal year 2026 and then a 5.1% increase in fiscal year 2027. This amounts to about $6 per month increases on residential bills during that time.
