Peoria Unified to expend final installment of pandemic relief grant

Deadline to spend the millions of dollars in federal ESSER III funds is Sept. 30

With the deadline to use an important federal grant as relief for the COVID-19 pandemic, Peoria Unified officials say they will completely expend the millions they received in funding.

The deadline to spend the third allocation of the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund ‑— more commonly known as ESSER III — is Sept. 30.

PUSD spokeswoman Danielle Airey said the district expects to expend their full amount of $39 million.
