Peoria Unified high school students have earned four Rocky Mountain Emmy Student Production Awards.

The district’s film and TV students worked last year to produce submissions with the guidance of their teachers and mentors.

Centennial High School celebrated one winning submission, Liberty High secured two winning entries and Sunrise Mountain High School took home one award. This is the fifth year PUSD students have qualified nationally for the NATAS Rocky Mountain Chapter.

The awards and student producers include:

• Kadin Castillo, of Centennial High School, for his work entitled “An Unlikely Friendship” in the “High School Animation/Graphics/Special Effects” category.
• Liberty High School students Nathan Ketelhut, Brooke Gooding, Ramie Schaublin, Ethan Sinconis, Dylan Rasbach, Evelyn Okel, Ethan White, Cooper Byrne, Easton Cochran, Tara Frooninckx, Chase Laird and Ben Lin for their entry “PUSD Track Meet – Finals” in the “High School Live Sporting Event/Game” category.
• Liberty’s Ethan Sinconis and Aidan Sinconis for their work “Passions” in the “High School Non-fiction - Short Form” category.
• Kyle Carrington and Ethan Kreuzwiesner of Sunrise Mountain High School for their entry “Girls Basketball State Champs” in the “High School Sports Story or Segment” category.

Hosted by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the Rocky Mountain Emmys recognize outstanding student achievement across a wide range of programming and production categories. Winners of the Rocky Mountain Emmys are automatically entered into the next level of the competition at the national level, competing against 18 other NATAS chapters.
