Residents of Peoria are mourning the death of a Vistancia Elementary School student who succumbed to injuries from an automobile accident Feb. 1.
Peoria Police responded to an injury accident near 124th Avenue and Gentle Rain Drive at about 3 p.m. in the master-planned community of Vistancia in north Peoria.
The accident involved a blue 4-door sedan and a child. Police said the preliminary investigation shows the child exited the vehicle while it was still in motion and the child was struck by the same vehicle while it was traveling down the roadway.
