Peoria Unified school goes on lockdown after receiving reports of gun on campus

Liberty High School in north Peoria went on a shelter-in-place yesterday after receiving reports of a gun on campus, Nov. 11, officials said.

Peoria Unified spokeswoman Danielle Airey said the shelter-in-place lasted about an hour and-a-half, then teaching and learning continued around noon.

She said Peoria police officers investigated the incident and determined the gun on campus was an unsubstantiated rumor.
