Peoria Unified governing board votes to eliminate social workers from district's labor force

The Peoria Unified School District governing board in a split vote  approved the elimination of social workers from the district’s workforce, which have been grant funded, during their April 9 public meeting.

All social worker positions have been funded by a grant that will sunset at the end of the school year and will not be renewed.

The approval will result in a reduction in work force of nine positions, eliminating social workers from the district altogether.
