Michael Murphy knows personally the havoc COVID-19 can wreak on a family.
Over the Christmas holiday, he and his wife Jennie as well as their four children all contracted and developed serious symptoms from the virus that has infected more than 787,000 Arizonans and killed about 14,000 in the state.
Jennie is among those who died following her battle with the coronavirus, and Mr. Murphy, 69, said despite the precautions the family took — including enrolling in virtual learning for their children through the Peoria Unified School District — it was not enough.
