Peoria Unified closes Ironwood High due to rising COVID-19 metrics

School will be temporarily closed until Feb. 10

The Peoria Unified School District has ceased in-person learning at Ironwood High School until Feb. 10 because of rising COVID-19 metrics, officials said.

This includes athletics, COOP, ARISE and extracurricular activities on the campus. It will result in all students learning virtually, Feb. 1-9.

PUSD spokeswoman Danielle Airey said the decision to close the school was made based on an extensive review of the school’s metrics using a new framework and process that was shared with the district’s governing board last night.
