Peoria Unified brings back more mitigation efforts

First push is laptop distribution

As coronavirus cases rise at Peoria Unified School District and as more students are going into quarantine, officials are updating the district’s COVID-19 strategy, most recently to ensure every student has access to a laptop if it is needed.

There have been more than 430 cases and 1,400 students recommended for quarantine since the first day of school on Aug. 4.

Outbreaks have been declared at 15 PUSD schools, which is about one-quarter of all school outbreaks in Maricopa County.
