West Valley school board to consider ‘grooming’ policy, arts memberships

The Peoria Unified School District governing board at their Aug. 28 public meeting is considering two items that are drawing attention from the public.

One is a policy regarding “grooming” and the other is the renewal of professional memberships for arts education.

Titled “No Grooming and Child Protection” the proposed draft language states the policy is “designed to safeguard and protect the wellbeing of all students and create a safe educational environment ensuring they can learn in a setting free from exploitation or manipulation.”
