Peoria Unified board member to attend conference she recently scrutinized

Rooks voted Jan. 26 to postpone travel funds citing lack of transparency

Heather Rooks has been using her power as a Peoria Unified school board member to scrutinize district travel expenses since she took her seat in January, requesting more specific information on them before voting to approve.

In an apparent shift, she has requested to attend the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development annual conference in Denver, March 30-April 3.

At a previous meeting, she motioned to continue travel funding for this conference, Jan. 26, but the motion failed.
