“Coalescence” is on the southeast corner of Happy Valley Road and 93rd Avenue. “People of the Sun” sundial is located on the north side of Happy Valley Road at about 94th Avenue. The two murals are part of the West Valley Art Council Gallery 37 project. Partial funding of the project is from a grant provided by The National Endowment for the Arts. Gallery 37 pairs a college credentialed teaching artist with local community college and high school students to design and complete the murals. Residents provided input at several community meetings, and the Peoria Arts Commission approved the design.
Following the art dedication, the public is invited to stay for Peoria’s annual Bravo Peoria event, that features a wide variety of activities and entertainment from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the library and the adjacent park, Camino á Lago. For event details, visit peoriaaz.gov/specialevents.
