Peoria softball star finishing Liberty career as a winner

Violet Mitchell, Colleen Arreguin and everyone associated with Liberty softball are having some long-deserved fun between the lines.

The 13-10 Lions are not assured of a winning record with five games left. But it is safe to say this is the best softball season at Liberty since 2015.

University of Arizona-bound infielder Mitchell had never experienced more than 10 wins in a high school season. She credits most of the improvement to Arreguin’s elevation from assistant to head coach.
