An age-restricted independent living community of about 115 residents in Peoria is transforming into a non-age-restricted multifamily apartment community, meaning dozens of senior citizens are rethinking their living situation.
Officials said Casa Del Rio Senior Living will begin the transition in a few weeks, and it will take months to complete.
Beztak Properties, which owns the facility, sent a letter to tenants on Sept. 18 serving as notice Casa del Rio is terminating their residency agreements for those living in Building One, one of the three buildings in the complex, effective Nov. 17, or 60 days from the day the letter was sent to residents.
