Peoria sees highest voter turnout in 2020 election

Nearly 84% voted in November election

More voters participated in the 2020 November general election than ever before in Maricopa County and in the city of Peoria, where participation was slightly higher.

This year brought out 80.51% of registered voters in the county, eclipsing turnout in 2016 at 74.4%, in 1980 at 80.9%, and in 1968 at 80.5%.

There are 122,139 registered voters in Peoria, and 102,435 of them voted in this year’s election, equaling an 83.87% voter turnout, according to the final election canvass.
