Peoria receives $17.6M in one-time funding from state

Allocation will go to public safety, water infrastructure

The city of Peoria has scored big thanks to an allocation in the recently passed Arizona state budget for one-time tax relief.

About $260 million was set aside for municipalities throughout the state, with a one-time $17.6 million allocation to Peoria.

The funds came from a bucket of $2.2 billion in the annual state budget, some of which went to K-12 schools as well as other recipients, and some was returned via tax credits.
